Our Intake Policy

Emma
Due to the large number of cats needing homes at this time,
we are not taking owner surrenders until further notice.

June’s Senior Cat Rescue (JSCR) is a small, limited-intake senior cat rescue organization dedicated to providing loving care and comfort to our senior cats in their golden years.  While we do find homes for some of our seniors, the majority will live out their lives in one of our foster homes.

We work with area shelters and take in cats who are about to be euthanized and are at least 10 years old. Because the need is so great, we do have a wait list of cats waiting to come into our organization.

Each cat who enters our organization gets an initial vet checkup where we do blood work, FeLV/FIV testing, diagnostic tests as recommended by our vet, vaccines, and medications, if needed.  This initial vet appointment can cost between $300-$500 per cat.  The cost of future care for each cat includes, food, litter, medications, vet visits and prescription food, if needed. As you can see it can cost thousands of dollars to provide the proper care during a cat’s lifetime.

If you are a private individual seeking to relinquish a cat, please complete a wait list request form found here.  Donations are limited and the cost of care for senior cats is high, which is why we ask that if we do accept your cat into our organization that a suitable donation is made to help defray the cost of the cat’s future.
